Here I did all the software on both the on-car system and the receiving end. A very little bit of the hardware was built by me, but the majority was done by Dan Bohachick, distinguished UMR Solar Car alum.
The system used on the car provided digital controls for the car's speed, drove an external user interface, controlled the turn-blinkers, and operated all data-acquisition and telemetry in real-time. At the time Solar Miner II won Sunrayce '99 the system could monitor the main battery voltage, array current, motor current, and numerically integrate energy entering and leaving the batteries.
